Kutlug Ataman and Fabio Mauri

The Venice Biennale was born in 1895 and is considered one of the most famous and prestigious cultural institutions in the world. It is a leader in the research and promotion of new trends in contemporary art. The Biennale is divided in such sectors as art, architecture, cinema, dance, music, theatrical shows and performances.

This is a work by Kutlug Ataman, who is a filmmaker and artist of Turkish origin. He focuses his attention on documenting the lives of individuals, witnessing what may be the evolution of the identity of people. This work is called “The portrait of Sakip Sabanci” and it intended to bear witness to the life of businessman Sakip Sabanci through 10000 LCD screens, each depicting a person who somehow had occasion to cross their path with this businessman.

This work is by Fabio Mauri. In the room echoes the voice of Pasolini and the bags are a wailing wall that reminds the visitor, with a sense of anguish, how many people in the world still suffer during their migration.
