A TRIP TO DUBLIN

In 2014 my friends and I went to Dublin for a study holiday.

We stayed for one week and it was the best week ever.

We visited a lots of places such as, the city centre of Dublin, Trinity College, Glendalough and Powerscourt, Malahide Castle, Dublin Wax Museum, The museum of Archaeology. We also saw a typical Irish dance at night.

We were divided in groups of two people each and everyone were accomodated in a host family.

I shared the home with Alessia, but unfortunately our "mum" was deaf and dumb, so Alessia and I were forced to change our home.

Every day we woke up at 7.00 o'clock, had breakfast, then we took the bus to go to school.

We could take one at all time, because there was one each five minutes, but it was uncomfortable because there was always traffic and you could stay in the bus for a long time... one day Alessia and I stayed there for almost two hours and half!

Lessons lasted at least four hours a day with a break in the middle, then we could go shopping if we didn't need to visit any place in specific.

The first day we had a test to check our English level, after this we had a walking tour through the city center of Dublin and a visit to Trinity College and the Book of Kells.

From 1.00 pm to 6:30 pm we had some free time, that we spent shopping, then we had to meet to see a film at Savoy Cinema in O' Connel Street. We chose Sex Tapes.

On the second day we visited Glendalough and Powerscourt, we walked a lot, but it was worth is, because we saw beautiful flowers, gardens and buildings.

Powerscourt's gardens were fantastic and very big, with beautiful elements and colors.

On the third day we went to Malahide Castle, but for me it was so boring, because the guide talked too much and too fast, so I couldn’t understand much.

The fourth and the fifth day were dedicated to a visit to the Dublin Wax Museum, where there were wax statues of important artists, and the Museum of Archaeolgy.

My favourite day was the sixth, because in the evening we went bowling and we did a game called Quasar in which you are in a dark room, you are divided in two groups of ten people each and you have laser guns and a vest and the game consists of shooting enemies and the winner team is the one getting the best score.

We lost, but participating was fun.

The last day we had free time that we spent to stay one last time in the centre of Dublin by ourselves and in the evening our teachers took us to see a typical Irish dancw, it is really difficult to do but very spectacular to see.

We left our host family on Friday at 3.00 am (yes it was too early!) to catch the airplane.

I’ll never forget this experience.
